Lunula Laser for Toenail Fungus

lunula laser for toenail fungus

Are you struggling with a stubborn toenail fungus infection? Have you been using over-the-counter or prescription antifungal medication on your infected toenails? Mount Joy Foot Clinic & Orthotic Centre is excited to introduce LUNULA LASER THERAPY for stubborn toenail fungus infections. Lunula Laser is your safe, pain-free alternative for having healthier, clearer toenails.

The Lunula Laser is a revolutionary low-level laser therapy bringing new hope to people suffering from toenail fungus (onychomycosis). Lunula Laser is safe, effective and poses none of the risks and harmful side effects of oral antifungal medications and is painless, unlike thermal laser therapies.

Lunula Laser low-level laser energy uses light energy to target the toenail fungus and stimulate blood flow. With red and violet laser lights, the photochemical reaction caused by the laser kills the fungus and encourages new, clear toenail growth. While the laser aggressively clears the fungus, it does not affect the rest of the toe or foot.

The procedure is quick and painless, and each foot takes about 12 minutes to treat. Most patients need as little as four weekly treatments. We will suggest an antifungal medication and shoe cleaner ensure you can maintain clear, healthy toenails.

How should I prepare for the treatment?

Bring a clean pair of socks and your feet. Our Chiropodists will cut and file your infected toenails before starting Lunula laser. A fresh pair of socks will be put on following your treatment. Remove ALL toenail polish before treatment. Following treatment, you can return to your activities immediately.

There have been no reported adverse reactions to laser treatment. It is well-tolerated, quick, safe, and painless.

At home, you should make sure to wash all of your socks in hot water to kill any lingering fungus. It would be best if you also treated your shoes with an antifungal spray to prevent reinfection. (e.g. CleanSweep)
