Custom Orthotics

custom foot orthotics

Custom orthotics are medical devices made to alleviate your foot & ankle symptoms. Custom orthotics are designed to realign the foot, improve function and correct abnormal biomechanics. Custom orthotics will assist in treatment and prevention of many foot, ankle, knee and back disorders. Custom orthotics will allow you to stay healthy and active without worrying about pain.

Functional Orthotics

The function of custom orthotics are more than a simple arch support. Custom orthotics support and enhance foot function, prevent joint misalignment, relieve stress and fatigue on the related muscles, tendons, and ligaments that we need to walk normally. Pain in your feet, ankle, knees, hips and back improves with the regular use of custom orthotics.

Custom orthotics are prescribed to fit into your everyday shoes. Custom orthotics come in many shapes, sizes, and materials. There are various types of custom orthotics available including dress orthotics, sports orthotics (eg. soccer, skating or skiing) and even orthotics you can fit into sandals.

Casual or Dress Orthotics

Casual and dress custom orthotics are designed to provide maximum control. They can be used in walking shoes, running shoes and even dress shoes. Casual and dress orthotics are often composed of a firm material, such as plastic, carbon fiber or graphite. Casual orthotics are most useful for day-to-day use at work or for when you are on your feet for extended periods of time. Casual orthotics can fit most shoes that have a removable insole. Dress Orthotics are a thinner and lighter version of the casual orthotic. They are specifically designed for shoes that have limited space. Regular use of custom orthotics help with foot problems such as plantar fasciitis , Achilles tendonitis , heel spurs, arch pain and metatarsal pain and much more.

Sports Orthotics

Sports custom orthotics provide an equal amount of support and cushion for walking or participating in sports. Sports orthotics are comprised of a unique combination of a semi-rigid plastic with supportive cushions in high impact areas such as the heel and ball of your feet. Sports orthotics can be used in various footwear options including soccer shoes, ice hockey skates, ski boots, etc.

Accommodative Orthotics

Soft orthotics are prescribed to absorb shock, increase balance, and alleviate pressure from the sore spots on your feet. Soft orthotics are used for diabetic neuropathy, arthritis and callused feet. Soft orthotics are designed with soft, cushioned materials so that they can be worn against the sole of the foot, extending from the heel past the ball of the foot, including the toes. Soft orthotics are also a useful option if you don’t tolerate hard orthotics.
