What is a Chiropodist? 

A Chiropodist is a primary health care provider educated in the assessment, treatment & prevention of foot and ankle disorders. Chiropodists provide complete nail and skin care, perform in-office nail and soft tissue procedures. Chiropodists and Podiatrist are also the only professionals authorized to prescribe & dispense custom foot orthotics.

What is the difference between a Chiropodist and Podiatrist?

Chiropodists are educated and trained in Ontario while Podiatrists were educated and trained outside of Canada. The two terms are used interchangeably and both are they only regulated foot health professionals in Ontario.

Do I need a referral to see a Chiropodist?

Referrals are not required to book with a chiropodist. Call today or book online to setup an appointment with our chiropodist.

Is it recommended to book an appointment?

Appointments are highly recommended. Your booked time with the chiropodists allows them to complete a thorough assessment and treatment of your foot and ankle issues.

Do you have evening or weekend appointments available?

Yes. We offer evening appointments every Thursday and are available most Saturdays to provide you a more flexible schedule.

What should I expect at my initial consultation?

Your initial consultation consists of completing a medical history form and office policy and consent form. This is reviewed by the Chiropodist and discussed in more detail with you. A complete foot and ankle assessment in conducted and then the appropriate treatment options are discussed and provided. Follow up appointments are scheduled as needed.

Are Chiropody services covered under OHIP?

No. Chiropody services are not eligible under OHIP. Most extended Health Plans have some provision for foot care, orthotics, orthopedic shoes & compression stockings. It is recommended that you understand your coverage and financial responsibility prior to coming in for your appointment.

How do know if Chiropody products or services are covered by my Extended Health Insurance plan?

Most insurance providers allow you to view your coverage details online or on their app. You can also contact your insurance provider to outline you foot care coverage and requirements for your claims to be approved. If you need our assistance with getting insurance details, please bring in your insurance card to your visit.

Can you bill my health insurance company directly?

Only certain insurance plans allow direct billing for chiropody services and orthopedic appliances. We currently can bill directly to GreenShield, Canada Life and recently Manulife Financial. All other insurance providers require full payment to be made prior to submitting your claim (by mail or online).

How can I pay for my visit?

Payment can be made with VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Debit or Cash. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHEQUE PAYMENTS.
